In 2019, after extensive refurbishment, SA Oil reopened a 4500m³ fuel storage depot in Sannieshof, a small town in South Africa’s North West Province. Through this facility, now known as SA Oil: Sannieshof Depot, SA Oil is proud to be investing in an area which has suffered marked disinvestment over the last decade or so.
Part of our investment in Sannieshof is embarking on partnerships with local communities, organisations and entities which are to each party’s mutual benefit – follow our Facebook page and the hashtag #GooiDiesel for more about who we are and what we offer!
Conveniently situated in the centre of this predominantly rural province, our depot is a fuel supplier for industry in Sannieshof and beyond – easily serving farms and mines in surrounding towns like Klerksdorp, Delareyville and Mahikeng, as well as businesses across the border with the fuel they need for daily operation.
We service industries across the board, including farming, agri-processing, mining, transport companies, manufacturers and small local businesses. Fuel products include diesel 500ppm and 50ppm, unleaded petrol, kerosene and – for motorsport enthusiasts racing around the area who need a high-performance fuel for their vehicles – our racing fuel, ACCELERATE Special Gasoline.
From plump potatoes to the best beefsteaks, the North West Province feeds our hungry nation! Many products we use every day are grown and produced in this region, including cotton, barley, sunflowers, poultry, beef, and 20% of the country’s maize – making it a hub of South African agriculture and agri-processing.
Known as the Platinum Province, the North West Province produces 50% of the entire world’s platinum! But that’s not all – with gold mined at Orkney, uranium at Klerksdorp and diamonds at Lichtenberg, it’s the heart of South African mining, employing a quarter of this region’s workforce.
The magical Magaliesberg mountain range depicts the North West Province perfectly – rugged yet beautiful! This area has many exciting tourist attractions, including the Vredefort Dome and the Cradle of Humankind – UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the extravagant Sun City Resort, the Pilanesberg National Park and Hartebeesport Dam.
Although general manufacturing traditionally makes up a far smaller contribution to the province’s GDP than primary industries, with plans underway for an Agro-Industrial Park dedicated to production and business services, manufacturing and commerce in the North-West Province is on the up!
