FUEL STORAGE FACILITIES

For titans of industry, who need to keep power plants or manufacturing facilities operating 24/7/365, there is one overarching concern – reliability of fuel supply. For a fuel supplier, this boils down to capacity, both in terms of bulk fuel storage (do we have the fuel?) and logistics (can we get it to where it needs to go?).

To ensure we’re able to supply our clients with the fuel they need, when they need it, SA Oil operates, or makes use of, several bulk fuel storage facilities in South Africa, including:

• Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal – our own fuel depot, this facility has a capacity of 3 300m³, with road access
• Clocolan, Free State Province – our own fuel depot, with a capacity of 1000m³, with road access
• Sannieshof, North West Province – our own fuel depot, with a capacity of 4 500m³, with access via road and rail
• Durban, KwaZulu-Natal – we have an allocation of 10 000m³, with road access
• Sasolburg, North West Province – an allocation of 4000m³, with road access
• Cape Town, Western Cape – an allocation of 10 000m³

In addition to these core facilities, we have access to numerous other storage resources throughout South Africa – including depots in Gauteng, Richard’s Bay, Bloemfontein, East London, Port Elizabeth and Mossel Bay – and in these key African cities – Maputo and Beira in Mozambique; Mombasa, Kenya; and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

At these facilities, we have in place stringent health, safety and environment policies to help ensure quality and quantity of fuel supply, which means you, the client, have peace of mind that we both adhere to industry best practice and can keep your fuel flowing.

A network of fuel tankers ensures that we can deliver product anywhere in Sub-Saharan Africa safely and on time.
